Belper's police inspector has issued an assurance officers will always be based in Belper, despite plans to restructure policing in the A division which could see Belper, Ripley and Alfreton merging.
The plans to form one Amber Valley unit would see Belper inspector Graham Lamin moving to either Ripley or Alfreton to cover all three towns.
