Vic: Man arrested following alleged hold-up in Melbourne
Police say they've arrested a man after officers interrupted a hold-up of a petrolstation in the Melbourne suburb of Bayswater overnight.
They say the officers saw a man put on a balaclava, enter the Quix-Mobil service stationin Canterbury Road just after midnight (AEST), and threaten the cashier with a knife.
They say the man threw down the weapon when challenged by the officers.
The cashier was uninjured.
A 37-year-old Croydon man has been arrested but has not yet been charged.
